Officially crawling!

It's official! Garren is definitely crawling. One day he isn't and one day he is. Ahhh, the pure joy of a typically developing child. For some reason he is really motivated by money. Hmmm, is this a bad thing? He loves the fake change that goes in our toy cash register. That was the first time he crawled across the room. I have a short video snippet. I also got some crawling video of Garren at the pool. I guess he is also motivated by empty cups. Note that I brought the cup and it wasn't just left by some stranger with germs!

It was one of those perfect days at the pool when it was beautiful outside but hardly anybody was there. This made it much easier to keep track of Hagen. When I was at the pool a few days ago he got down to the slide pool without me seeing him and made some friends with some lifeguards. We were leaving the baby pool area and I saw Austin and Hagen walk into the big pool. After glancing down to adjust Garren's hat I looked up to spot the boys (thank goodness they have bright orange UV shirts) and I didn't see Hagen. I thought maybe he went back to the baby pool because he didn't want to leave but he wasn't there. Then I looked by the lazy river (because that is where he was the last time he took off) and didn't see him. Then I had the awful thought that he walked out of the pool. I checked out front and didn't see him so then I finally went to the office to report a lost child. As soon as I said he was wearing an orange shirt the lifeguard said, "We have him". Luckily, an acquaintance of mine (thank god for Mother's and More)recognized him and told the lifeguards who he was.

What's funny is that later that day I met up with a Mom who also has a child with Down syndrome who was at the pool that day. I guess her daughter fell off the innertube (but she can swim) and the lifeguard went in to help her. He asked the mom if she was Hagen's sister. Now, does he not realize they both have Down Syndrome and just think they look alike or does he assume if you have one with Down Syndrome your other children would have Down Syndrome too? We both got a kick out of it!!!

Here is some video of Austin doing his version of a cannonball!

And some cute pics of Garren at the pool
